About Sebring Stables

Nestled in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts, you will find this multi-faceted Morgan Horse facility. Established in 1989 here in Richmond, MA, Harry and Carolyn Sebring combine business and pleasure to create a family friendly atmosphere that has become synonymous with Sebring Stables.

The farm is built on the sight of the old Berkshire Downs Race Track. It has about 60 stalls, lovely turn outs, and a beautiful ½ mile turf track. All this set around the panoramic views of the Berkshire Mountains where you can also find skiing, theaters, museums, fine dining and outdoor recreation. Sebring Stables is also within an hour drive from the prestigious New England Morgan Horse Show in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Our Staff

Our training philosophy is based on an unwavering commitment to produce optimal results while maintaining the integrity and tradition of the Morgan Horse. One of the strengths of Sebring Stables is the personal attention and care each horse receives during his or her stay with us. That is all thanks to the caring and knowledgeable staff that is the work force here at Sebring Stables.

Harry and Carolyn Sebring have been together for almost 30 years. Their combined education, a BS in Animal Science and a BA in Elementary Education, has proven to be a successful combination. Jim, Jessica and Sara Sebring complete the Sebring family. They have been an important part of the well roundedness that keeps Harry and Carolyn busy in and out of the barn.

Harry Sebring has been a professional trainer for more than 25 years and a licensed AMHA (American Morgan Horse Assocation) and USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) judge for 20 years. He is also one of the administrators of the innovative Morgan Judges School.

The Sebring family is pleased to be associated with the Hicks family and Rodney Hicks Stable. His Hackney ponies can also be found within the limits of the farm. Rodney brings years of experience in the Hackney Pony show ring, both as an exhibitor and well as a judge. He shares his knowledge and helps with Morgan training also.

The entire working staff at Sebring Stables is an important core of people. Each one bring something unique to the team. They are meticulous and pay close attention to detail. It is with their professional attitude we are proud of the care and service we can offer our clients. Our team philosophy makes it a rewarding combination both in and out of the ring.

New Facility, Staff and Friends in 2011

Jim and Michelle McCleester made it through their first year with Sebring Stables. We still have a second facility in Chatham, NY, just 20 minutes away from our main farm, and 25 minutes from the breeding farm. Jim and Michelle did a great job heading up that new location. It still houses a few broodmares, yearlings and young training horses. They brought home a World Championship with the lovely 2year old filly CBMF Class Act. It was a great start for "Sebring West". They have just brought in a new batch of two year olds to start working, we can't wait to see what stars will come out of this group.

Sebring Stables is proud to be a part of the AMHA Essay Contest. We are very excited to congratulate Katerina Barrett on her impressive win. She is now the proud owner of CBMF Phoenix. Phoenix is by DBA Street Talk. They came up the beginning of December to meet him and spent the day at Sebring Stables. We look forward to great stories of the fun Katerina and Phoenix are going to share. Please look on the official AMHA website for the 2010 contest. Copper Beech has graciously agreed to donate another horse.
